Ideas and inspiration
If you think of something, then it exists. It either exists in the ether or it exists in the physical. People get ideas all the time. Do you ever wonder where they come from? Often ideas are floating around in the astral realms just out of our reach, then when we are quiet or reflective for a while and we seem to attach ourselves to an idea that was floating past. It is not uncommon for people all over the world to have the same idea at the same time. In the past, people have written books very similar and been astounded to see someone on the other side of the world, someone they do not know wrote the same book!
If an idea is ready to come into reality, someone will catch it and make it real. If you get an idea and you don’t act on it, don’t be surprised if someone else does. We are often given ideas or inspiration as an answer to our prayers. We pray or we wish for things and God answers via our ideas or inspirations. When you doubt the ideas you get, then you are doubting God’s answer. But often, we don’t even hear the answer. We are so busy looking at the problem, we forget to look for the solution. There is a solution to every problem. I can’t tell you how many times I heard this growing up. But it is true. If you cannot find the solution, maybe you are looking too hard. Maybe the answer is just that you have to wait for the right time, ( this is too often the case), or you are looking at the wrong end of the stick.
A good example of this is if you are waiting for your partner to change and you have asked them and asked them but see no change, maybe the other end of the stick is you. Maybe you need to change your behaviour and then you will see change. Sometimes we just have to get out of our own way. But when we are stuck wanting to be right, it can be hard to let go and let God. Or let inspiration strike.
Instead of getting annoyed, or giving up. Have a time out. Go for a walk, do something creative that totally occupies your mind and give your mind space into which the ideas can come to find a solution. If your mind is totally busy all the time, where is the space for new ideas. Inspiration strikes at the weirdest of times. Like when you are having a shower, driving the car, gardening or doing dishes. It happens when you day dream. When you allow yourself time to reflect or just to not think anything.
Try to have time out each week to just relax and be creative. The people who seem to come up with the most creative ideas are usually already creative people. Like attracts like. When you are creative you are a magnet to great creative ideas or solutions.
So the next time, something is just doing your head in, have a break. Do something mundane or creative. Give your mind a break. I came up with this idea sitting outside in the winter sun appreciating the flowers in my garden.
Inspiration comes when you are looking the other way. That is why it is said that inspiration strikes when you least expect it.
